Social Media+ Press Release?

Intimidating words huh? Don’t worry friends I thought the same thing when I first read about the world of social media press release and online press releases and the policies along side it! But friends this is why I am here to explain the world of journalism so you don’t have to lift a finger!

So what exactly is a social media press release. Social media press releases live in an online newsroom. This means that journalists and other influencers can: Find your press releases via a simple Google search. Link to them. Share them on social media. This means on a social media database everyone has access to in order to get news.

Now what differs an online press release from a social media press release… they’re both on the internet? Well yes that’s technically a similarity but an online press release is broadly defined as using new technology to effectively communicate with stakeholders over the Internet. When a business is attempting to increase online reach through PR, a number of tools can be used. One of these is the company’s own website. This meaning that the information being distributed comes straight from the news sources website and conveying the message as a normal press release would be like.

Now what are the policies for social media? A social media policy is a document that outlines how an organization and its employees should conduct themselves online. It provides guidance and guidelines around safeguarding the brand reputation on social media and serves to educate employees on etiquette and professionalism. Basically a handbook for people online writing and publishing information this code of conduct sends signals of what is correct and ethical online.

Radio shows that we all enjoy are now turned to the new world of podcasting, webinars and vlogs. To break this down!

THE BREAK DOWN

Lets start with Podcasts. What is a podcast? A podcast is a collection or series of digital audio files that are made available for downloading or listening via the Internet. Each individual audio recording is known as a podcast episode. Podcasts are typically hosted by an individual or individuals who lead a conversation, share stories, or report the news. These have gained significant popularity due to popular shows that have shown great relatability to friendly banter and has provided comfort and even education due to the style of information being displayed its conversational making it more appealing and less intimidating.

Webinars are a different type of information spreading using recording mechanism although it is extremely different from a podcast it’s under the umbrella of recording due to the the video and audio aspect! But in all a webinar is an online event that is hosted by an organization/company and broadcast to a select group of individuals through their computers via the Internet. It’s more of an informational video and gathering amongst people of the same particular interest.

Now Vlogs! Vlogs have grown extremely popular the past few years due to the influencer population on social media. These have also been found to be informal and more of fun way to distribute content and follows the day of someone in the most popular types of vlogs. Vlogs are short for a video blog or video log, a vlog is a blog in video form. Think of it as your own little TV show or channel, There are a number of platforms where you can create a vlogging channel and publish video content.

Wanna Start Your Own?

When recording audio, listen to the recording through headphones and make sure all the sounds are even, whether that’s talk between people or the sound of footsteps near the recorder. Your goal here is to increase the odds of the show to become successful by understanding your audience. Get frequency right to grow an engaged audience. Is My Phone Stalking Me?

To my fellow phone users, do you ever feel like someone in your phone is listening? Like for instance, you and your friend are sitting around talking about how much you love shoes, and for the next 2 days you see nothing but the cutest shoes all over your feed making it impossible for you to not buy those shoes.

Well, never fear Amanda is her to explain why this happens to all of us and this is because of a little thing called algorithms! No, not like math! Let me breakdown why social media. Social media algorithms in social media platforms can be defined as technical means of sorting posts based on relevancy instead of publish time, in order to prioritize which content an user sees first according to the likelihood that they will actually engage with such content. So basically, we see what is most relevant to us and our liking rather than sifting through everything that does not pertain to us on the internet.

THE DO’S AND DON’TS OF SOCIAL MEDIA ALGORITHMS

So how do we make algorithms lucrative and how do we create patterns to have our own media become apart of someone else’s algorithm. Here’s your guide:

Do post regularly , Do considering posting different content on different channels, Do add captions to videos, Do engage with partner pages-If you engage with content on partner pages, they are likely to return the favor and engage with your content, Do consider size when creating graphics for social media, Do use a combination of photos and graphics on your page, Do make sure your content is at least 50% original content. Don’t include a URL on a graphic. Don’t post the same content repeatedly .Don’t create social media pages on new platforms if you do not have the capacity to maintain the page. Don’t post the same content repeatedly! According to https://www.canr.msu.edu/news/social-media-do-s-and-don-ts

What’s the deal with Instagram, TikTok & Snapchat??

Instagram is the plateau of all new age social media platforms the early release of Instagram was in the early 2010’s the idea of Instagram was to share photos and connect with people that you have not been in contact with for years and has the same format and friend system as Facebook which is the founder of Instagram it has taken over as its number one proprietor. When we talk about early Instagram it is not the Instagram that we hold so close and dear as the 2022 version. As we’ve seen Instagram has now taken a professional route as the number one source of displaying ads and spreading content 2 demographics for certain companies. Instagram is the founder of the new age social media such as Snapchat and Tik Tok. Instagram is what we like to call the forefather of 2010’s social media boom and the popularity for displaying content everywhere it was also the break of influencers.

Snapchat was second to hit the market, it’s different from other social medias it was almost like an instant messenger but with pictures just like Instagram. Snapchat was the more casual version of social media before there was any type of advertisement or articles that we could swipe through it was just oh platform of personal use and friendship. it became popular amongst teen crowds for it’s fast acting delivery and the visible features of reading and not reading post and text from this social media. later on as we see it becomes more influenced by social media like Instagram when filters became involved slowly moving to the progression of news outlets and other content by news publishers was added 2 the app. Snapchat’s popularity grew faster than Instagram’s which is something that I didn’t know I think that the demographic it was definitely made for the younger audience unlike Instagram where it was and every person social media platform.

The new rise of TikTok came about in 2020 it was in the height of the pandemic where TikTok became a household name. TikTok’s demographic like Instagram was for everyone of the original tick tock was an app called musical.ly it was a space predominantly made for a younger crowd it was for lip syncing and funny videos that were influenced by an old app called vine which was also another start for influencers. as Tik Tok’s popularity grew we understand as a society the modifications that make TikTok what it is today is heavily influenced by these other huge platforms of social media but the difference with tick tock is that the act to go viral is almost instant and everyone has a chance to become viral at one point or another. which is hard for platforms such as Instagram when it comes to Instagram it matters about how many followers you have and how many likes do you get because that is what makes interaction visible but with TikTok visibility is easy because you can track the number of views you get unlike other social media.

There are many similarities such as algorithms in all of these social media platforms when it comes to spreading knowledge and information such as adds another types of promotion social media has become such a crucial part of spreading and creating traffic towards businesses but they all differ in a way of times to post and how to create this traffic that is needed to keep ads afloat. the key to being a successful poster on these social media platforms is to really focus on time algorithms and mimicking they flow of posting from other influencers. But in all we’ve seen such a growth in social media since the birth of Instagram and many question how long these social media platforms will last but with the demographics of younger people such as Gen- Z it has become the currency of communication. So now to leave all of the readers with the question what is your favorite form out of these social medias and why are they so important to you?

THE WORLD OF INFLUENCERS

The new age of digital technology has opened up so what does that mean to us? Well with the new evolution of technology it has opened up a lot of opportunities for a lot of different people including the users of the Internet. When you hear the word influencer it’s a critical thing to think about as to pertain as to what we are influencing and why is this generation so easily influenced well I can explain it to you see the meaning of influencer is taking apart of the consumption of what we enjoy on the Internet people have now been able to create jobs out of that and create these lavish lives for themselves based off of our consumption towards their content. It sounds confusing but really it’s one of the more likely things that have really changed the Internet to make it bigger than what it was originally intended for.

SO WAIT HOW DOES IT WORK?

So to break it down the Internet is not only a way to consume news and other forms of media and entertainment but it has created a lucrative business to employ influencers which are basically normal people like you and me that have consumed the Internet for so long that they’ve created a job meaning certain content that they stream can be flagged down by a company that company can offer brand deals towards these influencers through add sentence meaning however many people have streamed that content will be creating revenue for the influencers through the brand deals and the views they receive on a video.

https://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/how-to-work-with-influencers has written the influencer market perfectly, saying “Influencer marketing employs leading, niche content creators to improve brand awareness, increase traffic, and drive messages to brands’ target audiences. It’s this collaboration between brands and creators that allows businesses to expand their reach across their buyer personas.”

WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR THE PR WORLD?

Well my friends , this basically entails that there is a big boom in the public relations field of work not only are they now representing groups in industries that employ them such as big brands but now they have to focus on influencers making sure that the content streamed is perfectly curated to accentuate the brand and the type of traffic that they want it seems that representing people and representing brands are completely two different deals.

Keeping track of content creators is hard because not only are they now under microscope of what things they can produce and can’t produce but they make content that is agreeable with their fan base and the company giving them brand deals and other types of attention.

So do you really think you understand the world of influencers, its not all it is made to be the internet has changed the game. So let me leave you with a question. Would you rather be an influencer as a media ploy or an influencer with no regards to media and make unhinged content that still makes you happy?
